Beans and Bones ist ein Workshop für die Produktion einer kollektiven Skulptur im Gemeinschaftsgarten PARKS in Hamburg. Ausgehend von der Vergangenheit des Ortes als ehemaliger Recyclinghof, beginnt das Projekt mit dem Sammeln von Aluminiumschrott, der später eingeschmolzen wird. Fünfzehn Künstler*innen setzen sich mit dem Ort auseinander, nehmen materielle Abdrücke und gestalten ein fast fünf Meter langes Archiv des Ortes. Dieses skulpturale Element ist sowohl als Artefakt als auch Infrastruktur: Eingebettet in den Garten dient es als Rankhilfe für Kletterbohnen, die sich nach oben in den Himmel erstrecken.

In Zusammenarbeit mit Art Ashram (Klara Adam, Florian Dietrich, Verena Seibt und Markus Zimmermann), Anna Lena Grau und Anna Mieves sowie den Workshop-Teilnehmer*innen.

Workshop and sculpture in public space

Beans and Bones is a workshop and site-specific installation situated within the community garden PARKS in Hamburg. Drawing on the site’s past as a former recycling yard, the project begins with the collection of aluminium scraps, which are later melted down and transformed into a new public sculpture. Fifteen artists engage with the site by taking material imprints, contributing to the collective formation of an almost five-meter-long rod. This sculptural element is conceived as both artifact and infrastructure: embedded within the garden, it serves as a support for climbing bean plants, whose strings extend upward into the sky.

In collaboration with Art Ashram (Klara Adam, Florian Dietrich, Verena Seibt und Markus Zimmermann), Anna Lena Grau and Anna Mieves as well as participants of the workshop.
