Installation und Performance

One Night Ashram ist eine abendfüllende Performance, bei der über 80 Keramik-Objekte auf einer begehbaren Skulptur mit Fließencharakter präsentiert werden. Zunächst bestimmt das Publikum anhand von Punkten das beste Gefäß. Während sich die Preisrichter*innen in heiterer Atmosphäre austauschen, wird die modulare Ausstellungsarchitektur umgebaut. Nach einer gemeinsamen Traumreise inklusive Appell von Angela Merkel an das Ehrenamt wird klar: die neue räumliche Struktur dient zur Reproduktion des Punktsiegers! Zwei Produktionsstraßen werden unter fluoreszierendem Fabriklicht eingeweiht und die heitere Gesellschaft verwandelt sich zur Arbeiter*innenschaft. Gemeinsam entstehen über 50 Kopien der prämierten Skulptur. Zur Entlohnung gibt es warme Handtücher, kaltes Eis und eine Filmvorführung.

Installation and performance

One Night Ashram is an evening-length performance in which over 80 ceramic objects are presented on a sculptural structure with a tile character. At the beginning, the audience determines the best vessel through a point-based voting system. While the jury exchanges ideas in a cheerful atmosphere, the modular exhibition architecture is gradually reconfigured. Following a collective guided dream journey—including an appeal by Angela Merkel in support of volunteer work—it becomes clear that the newly formed spatial structure serves to reproduce the winning piece. Under fluorescent factory lighting, two production lines are inaugurated, and the convivial audience transforms into a workforce. Together, they produce over 50 copies of the awarded sculpture. As compensation, participants receive warm towels, cold ice cream, and a film screening.
